Nose fetishism (nose fetish or nasophilia) is a paraphilia in which an individual is sexually aroused by the sight, touch, or often the erotic sucking of human noses. Less common, but of interest, are those who are aroused by having their nose stroked, felt and sucked. The arousal may be caused by the shape or the size of the nose. Arousal by placing someones nose into their partner's closed eye is also popular. Some are even aroused by the picking of noses.

[edit] Types of fetish

Some features of the nose which cause arousal may include

A person having a nose fetish may prefer some or all of the above.

Despite the classifications listed above, many noses touch multiple categories. For instance, Sarah Michelle Gellar may appear to have a "scoop" nose at first, but upon further review, it is the "wide tip" which creates this appearance from straight-on or a 3/4 view. Sometimes only the most trained nose fetishists can draw the correct distinctions upon first glance.[citation needed]

Nose fetishists will commonly either look at celebrities who have "sexy noses" (such as those listed above) or they will modify existing images to make someones nose appear more pronounced (known as "morphing").

In Americathon, the President of the United States, played by John Ritter, becomes romantically involved with a Vietnamese female rock star whose preferred sexual play involves mutual nose sucking.

[edit] Psychology

Not much is known about the nose-fetish and very little literature exists on it except for the Internet, where there are several online communities of nose fetishists. In these communities men and women discuss the erotic nature of noses and even "cyber" erotic noseplay. It is believed that there may be many more people who have this fetish than who admit to it publicly because it isn't considered to be socially acceptable. It has been said "that for any object you name, someone will have a fetish for it."[citation needed]

Most nose fetishists are extremely against rhinoplasty because it removes many of the features which they find so desirable. Sarah Michelle Gellar is especially loved because, despite pressure from others, she refuses to have her nose "fixed".
