Omorashi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Omorashi (Japanese: オモラシ, "to wet oneself") is a fetish subculture recognized predominantly in Japan, in which participants experience arousal from having a full bladder or a sexual attraction to someone else experiencing the feeling of a full bladder. For such fetishists, climax usually coincides with the moment of relief and embarrassment experienced when the desperate individual loses bladder control. Though there is a small community devoted to such fetishism outside of Japan, it is usually overshadowed by the more hardcore fetishes, urolagnia and urophagia.

[edit] Omorashi and Hardcore
Most fetishes concerning the use of bodily fluids are considered by the general public as "hardcore," taboo, or edgeplay. However, most omorashi videos are among the most softcore of erotica, featuring innocent young women, fully clothed, who have gotten themselves into an embarrassing bathroom situation. Commonly featured are schoolgirls, female working professionals, and other women attempting to look dignified before succumbing to the urge to childishly wet themselves. In this way, omorashi could be variously considered a form of sadism, masochism, sadomasochism, or erotic humiliation.
[edit] Omorashi in Japan
There are many ways in which omorashi is practiced in Japan.
[edit] Yagai
One of the most popular variations is known as "omorashi yagai," which translates as "to wet oneself outdoors (or publicly)." A further variation includes yagai hounyo, or "outdoor (or public) urination," in which the subject publicly removes their clothes to urinate. Other yagai hounyo enthusiasts operate much like graffiti artists, attempting the most audacious public urination acts without being caught.[1]
[edit] Game shows
Japanese omorashi fans also enjoy game shows in which contestants must compete in various urine-holding challenges.[2] The legendary Japanese Giga video company's "Desperation Tournament" series is one of the most well known examples of this kind of contest. Their consistent output and willingness to cater to unusual fetishes has made Giga a rallying point for omorashi fandom world wide. One such activity might include a panel of contestants competing to guess which woman has to use the restroom, or is wearing a diaper.
[edit] Diapers
The above mentioned diaper example would constitute "omorashi omutsu," less commonly called "omorashi oshime," both of which translate as "to wet oneself in a diaper." Usually, however, the standard fare in the omutsu variation is essentially the same as the standard omorashi, except that the participants are wearing a diaper instead of panties. This fetish group amounts to the Japanese equivalent of the diaper lover community.
[edit] Fantasy services
Because of its popularity, fetishists in Japan can now live out their omorashi fantasies at an "image club" or "pink salon." Prostitution is illegal in Japan, though the only thing the Japanese government defines as such is genital-to-genital contact. Pink Salons are establishments that have in the past specialized in oral sex, but more recently have gradually added a number of other "not-quite-sex" services. They are a place where one can go to receive a massage plus oral sex or a range of other fetish oriented services that are not sex, but are as good as sex to a fetishist. Image clubs offer an extensive range of fantasy services that include costumes and settings. An omorashi service can involve either the client, the masseuse, or both, wetting themselves, with or without a diaper. This can sometimes involve a "teiku auto" (a wasei-eigo of the English phrase "take out") where you get to take home your masseuse's wet panties or diaper, or just their urine in a bottle.[3]
Soiled schoolgirl panties were at one time also available in Japan through vending machines. [4] However, in 2004, the Tokyo metropolitan government passed a bill to ban the sale of panties worn by underage girls.[5][6] Shortly after this law was passed, it was reported that some underage girls (called kagaseya or sniffers) were instead allowing their clients to sniff their underwear from directly between their legs. Others chose to sell photos of themselves, throwing in the used panties for free.[7] These acts of pseudo-prostitution are one of the foundations of kogal culture in Japan.
[edit] Eroge
An eroge (エロゲー erogē?, erotic game) is a Japanese video or computer game that features erotic content, usually in the form of anime-style artwork. A number of omorashi focused games, such as Water Closet: The Forbidden Chamber have become popular in recent years. [8]

[edit] Anime and manga
The Japanese omorashi market has yielded not only fantasy services, DVDs and videogames, but also comic books. These range from independantly produced dōjinshi to large commercially produced manga. Some focus exclusively on omorashi stories, and could be considered a form of H manga. Others may simply feature the occasional scene.
In much the same way that it has been in manga, omorashi fandom has also influenced Japanese animation. Though wetting scenes have been commonplace in anime as early as the popular Devilman of the 1960s, they have taken on a more overtly erotic tone in recent years. One example is the H anime OAV Vixens.
[edit] Acceptance
Public urination in general (both within and outside of fetish subculture) is considered far more acceptable in Japan than in some Western countries.[9] Public nudity is also considered a lesser social taboo.[10] Additionally, the greater Japanese mainstream acceptance of fetish activity involving wetting oneself may stem from a broader cultural acceptance of older children who are not toilet trained. Recent studies show that an increasing number of Japanese children are wetting their beds and even wearing diapers full time, well into elementary school.[11][12] Because of this trend, progressively larger diapers are appearing on the Japanese market. One example includes the "Goo.N Refreshing Bigger than Big Size Diapers," intended for seven-year-old boys and girls.
[edit] Outside of Japan
Though there is a small community devoted to such fetishism outside of Japan, it is usually overshadowed by the more hardcore fetishes, urolagnia and urophagia. Outside of Japan, omorashi groups usually refer to their shared interest as "female desperation," or more uncommonly, "male desperation" fetishism. Some English language websites, usually aiming to draw traffic from the urolagnia community, simply identify as "panty wetting." Such sites are more likely to include more overtly sexual models and situations and purposeful (as opposed to accidental) wetting.
[edit] Publications
Though omorashi subculture in other countries has not recieved such diverse media exposure, non-Japanese wetting based publications do exist. One of the largest and most organized of such English-speaking groups, is centered around the Australia based Wet Set Magazine. In order to unite the scattered Western wetting community, Wet Set takes a holistic view. The welcome header on their website reads:
"Wet Set Magazine is for girls who enjoy the thrill of wetting their knickers, or peeing in their beds and diapers. Our girls are always desperate to go to the toilet, but love to pee in their pants instead!"
The magazine's content includes photos, letters, fantasy stories, drawings, contact ads, media comment, and articles. Their website attempts to convey a broad base of interests by advertising to "panty pissers, bed wetters, diaper lovers, and anyone who loves to read about embarassing accidents or golden showers." In Austrailia the magazine is sold in adult entertainment stores, but much of the readership comes through mail order to other countries. Their website states that this mail order readership extends to more than fifteen countries.[13]
Wet Set also produces Dripping Wet Magazine, which consists of larger pictorial sections with only a short introduction to each model. Due to high mail order readership in German speaking countries, the text appears in both English and German.
